idle...
I just wounder.
Do you have to tweak the idle when you program a custom chip, or does the idle just "follow" the right air/fuel setting, so if you get that right the idle will be fine? Or does the idle require a own tuning?

depends on what you are doing to your engine.
For example- my car would run at idle, after my mods, but it wouldnt run well. I had to first, bump up the idle speed on the chip. I then adjusted the minimum idle set screw, to obtain a good IAC count. Finally, I had to adjust the VE tables for my idle speed, as I was running very rich. What was happening, because I had a more agressive cam, I wasnt pulling as much of a vacuum at idle. Since the fuel pressure regulator is based on vacuum, the lower pressure was giving me more gas, thus the rich condiition.
In many cases, however, you might not need to change anything at idle.
