DTC H83. service ASR service ABS
Edit... this might help. 1993 LT1, 128K miles, everything stock, and everything is running fine.
I got this tonight. I looked in the GM shop manual (book 2) and I dont even see that code listed
First occurance, I had to make a quick stop from 57 MPH to 0. The pedal didnt feel hard, maybe mushy, but otherwise normal. My seatbelt locked, and the two lights came on.
I shut the car off, and restarted it, and the service ASR and service ABS lights went off.
Second occurance, later in the day, I was making a right turn, and took it with some force, but nothing crazy, just turned the wheel fast, and it kicked both the lights on. The seatbelt did not lock up this time.
I didnt really play much, but I did take off hard from a stop, the tires chirped, but never let loose, yet I also didnt feel the pedal come back at me like usuall. ASR was on by default.
Anyone have a clue as to whats going on?
TIA

I've had that happen to me a couple of times during panic stop situations.. I have no clue what it is though..

You pulled this out of the CCM? Or from the MIL on the panel?
'H' is historical - something that has happened but isn't currently happening.
Code 83 is "Low Brake Fluid Level".
Whee! HTH.
[EDIT]
All credit to Gordon Killebrew's little green book.

The first time, it was a semi panic stop (in a way). I had to get ahead of a line of cars, then make a quick U turn in a turn off. Basically it went like ACCELERATE... BREAK. I stopped in time, everything was normal, but the damn lights came on. I'm hoping this isnt another $$$$$ trap.

Matt,
I did the paper clip trick. jumped the upper right to the lower left to reveal the code.
Guess I should go check my brake fluid :yesnod:

Well, the fluid is NOT at the max level. and the resevoir is wet, right around the seem of where its moulded together. Perhaps a slow leak or something. I'll add more fluid tomorrow, see what happens to the level, and codes.
Is this the only cause do you guys think?

Id probably start with the fluid thing, then clear the history code out and see if it repeats itself
