You may just need a better fuel pump. I cant beilieve your running the stock one. Your stock pump may not be able to push a column of fuel forward under the starting G's without a half tank or greater ( its harder to push rearward when the tank is full- it has the weight of "x"-gallons behind it). ANother option is an external pump and sump your stock tank. I know many have preached the dont weld to a stock tank story. I have personally sumped two used tanks. Just empty them, flush em with water and let them sit a while. I tig my sumps on and they work great. Nothing like sucking fuel right off the rear bottom of the tank.

Again, I am 99% sure its fuel level related and not fuel supply problem, since I can keep an Air/fuel ratio of 12.8 on my WB02. That tells me that the fuel is being supplied as long as the fuel LEVEL is high enough to keep the pickup covered.
