I've been to Dave's "R-D Racing" shop and seen the cross-frame, it is definately a quality, well built x-brace. Unfortunately, for now I need tires and brakes for my car, and can't afford the cross-frame. Dave has sold quite a few of the cross-frames, maybe soon some of these customers will post some feedback.
I just got a new Mid-America Catalog and the had an ad on these frames. Seems a little pricey to me. I have a convert and just boxed my X-frame for less than $90, (and I have a nice place to jack the Vette from the side).
I'm interested in the brace they offer that stabilizes the front end. I did this to my Camaro and wondered if it would work as well on the C-4.
ps: And I didn't change my ground clearance, the R&D X-frame changes it by 1"
I bought 6 feet of 1/4" by 4 1/2" stock. I cut 18" lengths. I went to a really good welder and he welded the plates on to the X-frame. I had them put on the outer members of the X-frame, but just inside enough so that the metal sits flat on the frame. I took some pics and as soon as they are developed, I'll post them.
