can an exhaust manifold leak cause the idle to be high. I have no vacuum leaks and i reset the computer and adjusted the idle the correct way but it is stuck at 11 in park and about 8 in drive with the break on. The only apparent problem is the manifold leak. Also, every once and a while when the car is pushed hard i get a check engine light on and the idle goes back to normal (is this the "limp home mode"?). When i shut the car off and restart it the idle is high and the check engine light is off.
does the compure store codes or do i need to pull it when it is on?
Look up 65Z01 website here on the forum. He has outlined the proceedure for extracting the code(s) from the ECM. After you get the codes, post the results and we'll see where we are.
ok here we go, i received the following on,on,off,on which i guess is 21, if so that would be throttle position sensor out of range (i hope i deciphered it correctly), then i got on, on, off, on,on (22?) throttle position sensor circuit voltage low, lastly i got on,on,on,off,on,on (32?) egr circuit fault. Could someone please tell me if i deciphered these correctly, and if these would cause a high idle?
