Cigarette Lighter No Workie.
Fellas,
I dont smoke but I do like to charge my cell phone in the car but the cig. lighter doesnt work. I purchased an entire new assembly which includes both the lighter and the housing it plugs into. The problem is after putting a volt meter on the two leads that plug into the housing I have no volts. I checked the fuse box on the passenger side of the dash but I didnt find any blown fuses. I pulled the radio to try to trace the two wires however I was not able to see back very far.
Does anybody have any advice for me?

My cheapo haynes manual tells nothing about cig lighter wiring.Try Jimswhite 92. He has the wiring schematics on disc. Sorry i couldn't help you!! :cheers:

Circut diagram for "87 shows hot feed ( orange wire) from CTSY/CLK fuse to lighter and glove box ( console ) light. Does the light work?
What about the earth wire. Have you got continuity on the black wire to some earth point.

Found the problem boys. There is another fuse box underneath the passenger glove box with a fuse in it for the Cig. Lighter. I replaced that and all is well. Thanks for the responses fellas. I love this forum. Everyone is so willing to help keep americas favorite sports cars on the road.
