Default Knock sensor L98 v LT1

Quote from eBay seller.
"This module is the one that mounts inside the PCM. It can be used on LT1's and is used to help reduce Knock Retard, less knock equals more timing advance. The LT-1 module detects "False Knock" and will retard the timing anywhere from 1-22 degrees and causes a serious loss in performance. The LT-4 upgrade reduces timing retard and detects "True Knock" which increases power. This upgrade benefits even more if you've made an exaust or header upgrade. "
Do L98s have a similar setup at the ECM.I know there is a sensor in the block.I presume this is the electronics that read from that.
Can this sort of upgrade be performed on a L98 ECM or do you reduce sensitivity in a new chip.
