Does an '86 have a cold start sensor. Device that would cause richer mixture or faster idle at cold start? My car seems to not want to idle at first start up. I have to play with the gas to keep it going. As soon as it's driven a bit it's fine.

1) Yep. The general location is under the thermostat housing neck, sticking out of the front of the lower plenum (under the throttle body, but on the vertical surface). It has a square connector on it, similar to the fuel injector plug.
2) The Cold Start Valce (CSV) is active, the switch is closed. When the switch is open, the valve is supposed to not flow fuel.
3) If you have to "give it gas", the extra air is probably what is helping you out.
