Can anyone tell me where the vacuum line uner the TB is supposed to be hooked up to? I have converted to a Holley stealthram, And dont remember if this line needs a source, or if it is a source that needs to be hooked to something? Thanks in advance
The vaccum line under the TB on my '86 goes to a solenoid on the intake manifold just behind the thermostat housing. There is another vacuum line coming out of this solenoid which controls opening and closing of the EGR valve. So I guess it the connection under the TB would have to be a vacuum source. :seeya
Don't know about passing emissions, or care for that matter. We dont have them up here. I just hooked a vacuum hose up to that line and ran it to a manifold vacuum.
So far it is running ok, but I have only just finished doing the cam break-in. Haven't had it on the street yet, but I am not worried about it. The guy that did my chip said that he could take out the signal or whatever, if I didn't want it there. So far no codes going off.
It is a vacuum source for the EGR (through the electically operated solenoid) and to the vacuum operated valves on the fuel vapour system in the driverside front wheelwell. I think it may be ported vacumn as the constant vacuum ports(for the FPR ) are located at the rear of the manifold. '87
