corvette units had a better servo boost valve and accumlutors the f body units were simlar except the servo plus the planetary gears lubercated better since they had producded a 700r4 in 20yrs i stay away from putting a used one in

If I were selling my car, I'd put a junkyard one in since you are not paying me for a quality rebuild. OTOH, if it is a keeper, I'd rather put a high quality one in since I hate to do the same thing twice unnecessarily.

Unless this car is your DD, why not just shut it down till you can spend the money on a quality rebuild? BTDT. I know it sucks but it sucks more buying a POS today and having more problems tomorrow. Again, BTDT too many times.
