Or fuel filter clogged. If you have the shop manual, you can check the FPR by using the flow chart. You will need a FP gauge to determine if it is the FPR. Low FP can mean a bad FP diaphram, which is what I'm going through, plus some. Good Luck! :seeya
I should have mentioned this. I changed the fuel filter and then checked the fuel pressure at the fuel rail it was good right at 35. Then I unplugged the maf and had no change. I have a haynes manual it has a step for checking the FPR but I say change it anyway I think it is original with the car. Should I get a stock relacement just to get it running or Mod?
I was thinking someone else would have had the exact same problem and say it was not the FPR it was something else.
DING DING DING
OnDVirg, you were right! Unplugged the MAF and it sat there and idled.
Very rough, but for the 1st time it was RUNNING.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!! I owe you a beer :D
Thats ok at least I know what the problem is. Good job dude I would have never thought the MAF would keep it from running. Now that I need to replace it should I go with a MOD replacement. Crap you are right replacement from Autozone is 135.00 with a 45.00 core trade in.
Actually, that's pretty good...OEM Delco is $300+. I also noticed in one of the catalogs a "heavy duty" MAF I think for under $200. I don't know what makes it heavy duty or why it's so much cheaper than a Delco replacement. Maybe someone else has some experience with these. I do know that if it's really heavy duty, it might be worth trying, since these are susceptible to the conditions under the hood.
