First question about my "new car..

Default First question about my "new car..

For you that dont know, I have just started my "new" engine with the lt4 hotcam and lpe ported 113 heads. I hope you can help me with my questions :)

first:

Is it normal that you have to adjust the idle with the idel screw in order to make it idle good?

second:

Is my car going to run rich or lean with my new setup. In other words, do I dare to drive the car around ( not wot runs ofcourse ), just to se that she runs?

third:

im using a heated O2 censor that is not plug in to 12v yet. Will that O2 work as a "regular" O2 then, or must it have 12v to work at all?

fourth:

How can you tell if the car is in open or closed mode without a computer?

fitfh:

I have disconnect my EGR. Should I keep all the vaccume hoses that goes to the egr solinoid etc left on?

1. Yes. You'll have to burn a chip for idle too.
2. Depends on a lot of things. What year is the car? Did you get bigger injectors? You'll 'probably' run rich at idle and leaner up top, but that's just a guess based on my experiences with my car. Again, you need good programming.
3. Not sure, but probably will work. Hook it up.
4. Get a 'computer' of some sort. There is a way to tell using the ALDL and a paper clip, but I don't remember off hand. Fast flashes mean one thing and slow flashes mean the other.
5. If you disconnect them, plug all the holes. You'll probably still get an EGR code. You'll have to program the EGR out in the chip.
