Was reading the latest Corvette Fever and in this issue they gave some good brake/suspension tips. Some of the article had mentions of Guldstrand and other notables.
One thing that was mentioned was a Bilstein Coilover kit for C4s. Does anyone know anything about this system, and have any experiences with it?
I know that there are other coil over kits out there namely from DRM and Exotic Muscle. I wasn't aware of the Bilstein kit and was wondering from an installation standpoint if it was any easier or harder than the others which require some suspension modification/fabrication to work.
That's a beautiful car in your pic. It's sits too high though, lower it with coil-overs! I've been running a set from EM for 6 years (or so). I really like them a lot. You are free to change the ride height to your liking. They work better than the stock setup on autocross, and incredibly, actually ride softer than stock.
*89x2*, do you have an estimate for the cost of the springs, and lnstallation cost?
Not sure how much as mine was included in the total for the entire package from Callaway (Engine, body, susp, wheels, exh, etc.)
over at the corvetteactioncenter website, callaway4fun had this done a couple months ago, he may be able to give a price for what he had done...
hope this helps
I would like a set too. But I my ride select and it would not be working any more and I go for road trips and like to play with it..
My "select ride" FX3 works fine with the Coilover suspension... It actually enhances the ride IMO
I saw the that a few guys are using the shorter front blocks and 2 long bolts in the rear...To get a inch for 40$ and a days work..
Rob
I have that on my 89 Automatic coupe - decent kit - paid about 50 bucks for it back in 90 and another 500 for install and alignment.
Does NOT come even remotely close to the ride w/ the coilovers :flag

Bill,
Thanks for the kind words. The suspension is ready for some work. Still need to complete a larger brake conversion and a high stall TC before I can get things taken care of.
What advantage is there to the coilovers for someone who will likely not Auto-X at all and simply use the car for street/strip purposes?
