Default Cooling system flush - electric pump

I know this has been answered before but I can't find it in the posts. What is the procedure for flushing the cooling system in an LT1 with the Mexiere pump? I read somewhere it can be done without removing the knock sensors.
Thanks.

The last time I drained my system I removed the knock sensors, but I imagine you could get away with using the pump and petcock only. As easy as it is to remove the sensors though, I'd go the safe route.

No matter what pump you use, there will still be considerable coolant in the block that will not come out. Once the fluid gets below the level of the pump you won't get much more out.

Best way is removing the knock sensors.
