So what do you guys think.....
VooDooooooo or what......worth the bucks $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yes, I'm sure. At 60% throttle the switch fully advances spark and fuel curves, just like stock at WOT. Just push your pedal to the floor and save yourself $100.
Do a search. This was discussed less than 2 weeks ago
On an L98 you would get the same efffect by advancing the TPS base reading from the stock .54Vdc to .65Vdc but I'm not sure about a L83.
If you have a TPS try advancing it till it throws a code, then back off a few mV; advance the base timing till just before the ECM pulls timing at WOT.
All that swtch does is sends the cmoputer a false WOT voltage once you reach a certain throttle opening. Effectively the computer will go WOT but your throttle won't be open all the way. You'll have full fuel and spark advance but you won't have full airflow. All that thing is going to do is make your car run richer and therefore waste gas. Feel free to try it though.
If you say it works for your 84 then maybe this thing only works on certain cars or there could have been a batch made that were mis-calibrated. I still have the Throttle Performance Switch in my parts bin. If anyone from Chi-town wants to test this thing out on your car let me know by IM or e-mail. It's good for cars 85-91. This is not for sale, I would just like to see what engine configurations this works with. I already know this won't work on the 87 and 90 cars.

** It would be interesting to know if those w/o an adjustable TPS can elongate the bolt holes to make it adjustable or replace it w/ an adjustable TPS w/o setting any codes.
On the '85-'89 L98 the TPS mounting holes were slotted and so adjustable; on later L98 it had only two round mounting holes which provided for no adjustment. I have heard that on the later L98 the ECM would read the TPS position at base idle and at WOT to determine these settings dynamically.
Advancing the TPS base value to .65Vdc on the early L98 provided for crisper throttle response due to more fuel and timing at part throttle positions.
I would measure the values at the connector; now I use a scan tool.
I know what all you guys are saying and I agree but I swear I saw a dyno test for this thing in Corvette Fever or Vette magazine a few years back on a 84 and the car GAINED POWER . But you cant belive everything that you read I guess.
I'm still using the switch on my '84........soooooooooooooooooo....it works Ok!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for all your wonderful input.....
thats what makes this forum the best.....
