LT4 knock SENSORS are different. So are '96 LT1 sensors. They are different resistances. They will not work in previous cars without a little bit of modification. OBDI uses a different resistance level than does OBDII for knock sensors. I had to install resistors into my OBDI computer to use it in my LT4 which is designed for OBDII.
There's no reason to switch over your sensors. They are the same except for the resistance - and will not help you tune your car. Only the knock MODULE in the ECM/PCM should be swapped. I would swap those sensors back to 92-95 knock sensors.

ok just got home from work and chevy dealer with some parts 2 new 94lt1 knock sensors and 1 96 lt4 knock mod i will be trying this in about an hour after car cools i will be back with hopefully good news :banghead: :banghead:
