As you know, the "engine light" means that a trouble code has been set. It will help to find out what code(s) is/are set.

Did you change your knock sensors, the LT1/4 have 2, or are you talking about a LT4 knock module?

There are 2 knock sensors on these cars, one on each side of the block. I could be wrong, but I don't think the 96 knock sensors will work on the 94's, 94 was OBD1, and 96 was OBD2.

The knock sensors that go into the block are all the same. The only thing that is different is the knock module that plugs into the bottom of the ECM.

Looks like you have a short somewhere, maybe you knocked something loose when putting the new knock sensors in.

They are probably talking about the LT4 knock module.

You will only benefit from the LT4 knock module if you are getting false knock readings from installing items such as roller rockers. It will not be worth putting one in otherwise as you will see no benefit.

The only purpose of it is to keep full timing when there is no true knock but the computer may see something that it analyzes to be knock.

The only way to tell is to get it on a scanner to see if any timing is being pulled at WOT (wide open throttle).

i was running 13.5 @ 105 and i went to level ten and bought a stall converter and a new performance trans he told me i would see atleast a .5 increase at the track so when i went i ran a best of a 13.7 @ 100 and that was the best then the trans broke and i brought it back and he rebuilt it and i told him of my numbers and he told me my knock mod or senser was bad so i dont no how he got this but thats what i am going with for now because i lost top speed and time so this is what i was told to do i just got them confused i guess

I would suspect the broken trans being the reason for the high ET unless you have scan results to say otherwise. It can get expensive to just throw parts at it based on guessing. I know as I have done my fair share of it.

i ran the car already with the trans redone to see if there was any difference i still went and pulled a 13.7@ 100 and a 13.7 @101 and a 13.7@ 99 and then it went to 13.8 to 13.9 @ 99 so i have to try the knock modual before going back to him

I think you can simply unplug the knock sensors and it will keep from retarding the timing.

What else did you do between running the fast time and the slow times other than the transmission?

It makes sense you might loose some MPH because you are hooking better (better 60') but since you are loosing time as well I would say it is something in the convertor or the tranny. What brand of convertor is it? I know some way out-perform others.
