Need suggestion on the removal of the driveline support beam. Have bolts out, but it doesn't want to come out. It appears that it has to slide to the front or rear to come free. Any suggestions would be appreciated. This whole job has been fighting me. Thanks in advance.
Vary the engine/tranny height in relation to the dana with the jack till there is least amount of tension on the beam while tapping on it with a BFH toward the front of car and or pass side tunnel.
Just curious, what kinda clutch/flywheel ya gonna run?
I know this may be too simple, but you did support the transmission with a suitable jack? If not, there will be too much preasure on the beam and if you do get it out without supporting the tranny, it may hurt! :blueangel:
FWIW, I just use a mallet and move the torque beam back over the differential and leave it up there when I yank my tranny. Just support the tranny prior to the banging and cover you ears.
