Battery cover/blanket?

Battery cover/blanket?

I was putting a battery shield on yesterday and I have a 1/4" neoprene rubber covering around the battery. What is that for? It looks like a factory deal. Anyone else have it?

Yes, I have a neoprene covering. It is supposed to shield the battery from extreme heat, and lessen the effects of cold if the battery is not in use very much. I'm not sure if it does anything, but I don't need a new battery!! :seeya I wuv my battery bwankie! :blueangel:

Hey Strick.........do you really think your battery shield is going to keep out an idiot with a cordless drill with a carbide bit?

Absolutely not, but it might stop the drunk or kid looking for a joy ride, that doesn't have a drill in his pocket. Hopefully he'll move on to the next car or better yet, just forget about it. You'll never stop the pro. I have a secret shut off so they can't just hot wire it and drive away. Tow away, that is a hard one to stop.
