Default Runners & Plenum Question

Hi Guys, need alittle help. I bought a used set of Runners and plenum off a guy here on the forum( I want to polish them and do some minor porting). Anyhow its looks like they're from an 88 or 89(not sure). I've got an 87 with a cold start valve. On mine each runner has the 4 intake tubes and another smaller tube(I don't know what it called) The right has a provision for the cold start valve.
The new right side runner matches up perfectly, the left side does NOT have that 5th smaller tube and the plenum has no provision for it, can I still use this new setup? The manifold hole(left side) will be covered by the runner.
Any thoughts? Any problems?

Well, first of all, are these stock runners?

The cold-start injector remained through '88 so you must have an '89-'91 setup.

To use those runners you will need to install a chip from an '89 so that the ECM will do the enrichment on a cold start; and you must block off the port at the left rear of the ruel rail when you remove the 9th injector.

However check the plenum; if it doesn't have the triangle between the two TB interface holes on the front you will need to upgrade to a later model TB as well.

You realy need an intake setup from an '87-'88 TPI, either F-body or Y-body to minimize the hassles. You could either sell the used parts or use them to practice, though that's not realy necessary for intake porting.

All the parts are stock setup parts.
Just to clarify.
Both sets have a cold start.
The only difference is the left side, my has the fifth smaller tube the newer set(probably from an 89) does not have the fifth tube.
So back to my question? I know it'll fit just want to know if the left runner blocking off the the intake will cause me any problems

I've probably got an extra set. I can swap you the ones you had IF they are stock runners.
But if you bought some more thye are probably aftermarket, right?

That 5th tube is for the EGR. You'll need that unless you delete the EGR all together.

Okay so on my car I have 2 EGR tubes one left and one right. Onthe new runners I have the tube only on one side. the plenum has cutouts for only one EGR tube. So that's perfect except now I have to block off the extra fifth
tube on the manifold, which the runner will do.
So I still have an egr tube, runners and plenum work together, Cold start valve is there. My question is Does anybody forsee any problems in covering the EGR hole on the manifold(which the runner will do without any modification to anything.)
You guys take off your runners more often than the ole lady does her nails somebodies gotta have a clue.

No no no, you've got it all wrong.

The passenger side skinny tube is for EGR. The driver's side skinny tube is for the fuel vapor canister purge AND the PCV suction line.

I'm doing a superram install and from what it says it has egr capability and the only hole that is open is on the drivers side, from looking at the intake it seems that both sides go to the egr. That is if your talking about the little skinny tube that's part of the runners.
