Alright, about a year ago I broke a stud off the bottom of the header, oops. Well, I just finished the side pipes and I want the loud banging to stop. So, I figured I would invest in some headers. I'm looking for cheap. I found the pacesetters for 250 and the hookers for 320.
Yes I know the pacestters suck, but are the hookers any better? I am not willing to spend the 600 right now for those TPIS long tubes which would be awesome. Your comments on these 2 headers would be appreciated, or if you know a place I can get them cheaper than at Summit.

Let me get this right, you want cheap headers. How long do you want to wait before you have to change them again? Cheapies last around 2 maybe 3 years on a daily driver. If you are going to put long tubes on (no cats) pretty soon why not remove the broken stud and use the stock manifold until you make the swap to long tubes? Someone at the base auto hobby shop could get that bolt/stud out. Use an easy out and heat it up to cherry red, it'll come out. :smash:
Well, I screwed that up when I did it. I drilled it out, oops. So now I have a nice and new shiny hole there. Is there someway to put a new stud in there now. Are we talking tapping the hole and finding a stud that size, or are there press fit ones? I tried putting a bolt and nut through there but the collector section covers the top of the hole so that is impossible.
If I can fix this, then I will wait to get the good headers. :banghead:
If there is a "auto-dismantler" (junk yard) near by, call and see if they have an exhaust manifold. They can get on the line and find one for you. Another idea is right here, with all the guys putting on headers, somebody would be willing to sell you one or the set of manifolds. I'm sure someone at the auto hobby shop could weld a stud in place for a temp fix until you get your headers. This is fixable.
