Id approximate this thing as a regular solid cylinder, so the moment of inertia about its Z-axis (its long axis in this case) is I=1/2 M R^2.
So the radius of the new shafts are smaller, but its possible that the mass went up enough to compensate, giving no real improvement in drivetrain losses.
edit, i see scorp did the weight comparison
i'm getting a number of 124lb-in^2 for the Dennys and 113 for the AL, so the inertia is raised a little, so i would expect a very small increase in drivetrain losses
