Replace those stock bolts with longer grade 8 or better. 9/16 x 10-11 inches long. Use grade 8 stoffer lock nuts. I couldn't find those bolts but i did find 9/16 alloy ready rod at Graingers.

The easiest way is to use the kit from MAD. It only costs a few $$ and has all you need to do the job in about 1hr.

If you buy the Mid-Am kit like I did you'll probably find the bolts are too short to get the look you want. Their kit is $20-some bucks for 2 bolts and two castle nuts. Kinda steep if you ask me.

The alloy rod sounds the best way to go to me.

Or pull the bolts and shocks and take the spring out and remove some spacers. Then reassemble.

I used grade 8 bolts from wholesale hardware supplier. I also used nyloc nuts ... not a good idea, since they loosen w/time. I did, however, cross drill the longer bolts for a cotter pin which is definitely safer than NOT having a cotter pin. I will be replacing the nylocs with a proper nut but the cotter pins are definitely a good idea as far as I'm concerned.
