Well I took the horn button cap off and the horn electrical connector wire was loose. It appears to go in the black plastic tube down inside the steering wheel but I can figure out how to get it back in. It also looks like the plastic tube might have a small piece broken off of it. I really need to get this horn working before Monday (doesn't this sort of thing always happen on weekends/holidays?). Any tech help would be appreciated. If you can call, call me collect at 717-249-7362 or 717-512-3652. Thanks
if the hole is "empty" meaning, no other parts are in it other than the broken plastic thingy, I would get a toothpick and a little bit of silicone RTV to pull it out.
Next... I would figure out how big its supposed to be, go visit your local hobby shop for a piece of plastic the same demensions. It may be longer, but thats what an exacto is for!!
after that... I am not sure how the horn buttons are on those things... if its what I think it is, you are describing a simular system in my nephews 90 Buick LeSabre!!!
And that has absolutely no moving parts. The key is that little spring... its the tension and the contact...
It sounds like you have the smae problem I had. I had to get it inspected and it quit. Th broken plastic thing reminds me of a brush. I didn't have time to pull the wheel and replace so I rolled up a piece of electrical tape and pushed it in the hole with the connector. It worked and that was 3 years ago and still holding ;)
