Default Overheating ???

Neither of my fans are coming on in my 91 L98 and its overheating at stoplights. If I turn on the A/C still no aux fan. What I've done so far, after reading many threads, is check the fusable link by the battery (orange wire coming out of positive cable that says 20) with ohmeter and looks fine. I found one thread with a diagram showing 2 fan relays on drivers side rad housing for 91 but I dont see any grn or grn/wht wires to them. Inside fender in front of driver side tire there is black box with grn and grn/wht wires but not sure if these are what Im suppose to jump. If they are, exactly how do I jump them? Also, is there a temp sw on this car and where is it located. I see the plugged port between 1 and 3 cylinder for adding a low temp sw but am more than confused after reading so many threads on checking the temp sw and other things. Can the temp sensor have anything to do with my prob?
Sorry to reopen a thouroghly discussed topic but after reading threads about folks shorting things and what-not Im a little gunshy now. Any advice would be honorably appreciated. Thanks

Trip,
From reading your post, it appears that you probably don't know how to read an electrical diagram printed on the side of the relay. Why don't you just:

1. Buy a spare relay and try replacing each relay one at a time
2. Find someone with another C4 that you can borrow his relays or better yet, plug yours into his to see if they will make his fans work.

Additionally, try rotating the fans by hand (with the ignition off). I have seen a case where both fans were actually locked up and wouldn't even turn. Obviously, in this case the fans would have to be replaced.

If your fan relay checks out ok, then it could very well be a shorted-out fan motor. They cost about 50-80 bucks. :seeya
