My 1984 is no longer stock! The current set up is a 383-brodix heads/intake-650 demon-tpis headers-random tech cat-power effects cat back system-700r-4(1500 stall),3.07.My question is how do I get it to hook up?It will smoke the tires all day long!I am running stock16x9.5 255/50 zr16 bridgestone potenza re-71.I was thinking of getting some 17x9.5/17x11 sawblades? Will it make a huge differance? What about the ride with the 17in with a z-51 suspension? Thanks for the info. :chevy
You won't see a big difference in the ride going to 17" wheels. I have done it on both my 84 and 86. You may need to get some BFG Drag Radials or Nitto makes some too I believe to get the car to hook up. Be careful, all 84's came with the Dana 36. If it hooks up, you will probably trash the rear.
I love the attitude of your vette.....I have asked you many times before...how did you get this attitude...(lowering)....
Is it possible to let me know...
thanks
tony
I went thru the same problem I tried 16" drag radials then went to 17" rims
with 9" on the front and 11" on the back with drag radials and had NO traction at all, well except for a well prepared drag strip, which most weren't. I finally went to a 9" slick on a 15" rim for consistant traction on the strip and on the street I just have to be careful of how I drive :D
