Probably a stupid question...
I have got a bad pulley bearing, but I can't find it. It only starts squaling when I'm going down the road @ 52/53 MPH in OD. This is driving me crazy! :crazy: When the car is sitting in the driveway, with the hood up, the thing runs as quiet as a churchhouse mouse, but driving it down the road.....when it hits 52 it starts squealing loud enough to turn heads, and keeps squealing until I hit 56 or 57, then, blam...quiet again. How am I gonna find this friggin bearing? :banghead: I have recently installed a new tensioner pulley in hopes that, that was it.....WRONG :mad :cuss

In thought i had a bad bearing also. After looking at the serp belt and seeing cracks, i replaced it. Gone is the sound of a bad bearing. Check it out !! Good Luck !! :cheers:

Can someone rev the engine a bit when the car is parked and you can listen around the motor? That helps sometimes.An old belt can be the culprit sometimes as well.Post backw hat you find and take it from there.

Pick up a mechanics stethoscope from your local auto parts store, they are about $8. Put the tip on the air pump, alternator, etc. and listen. I had the same problem, it ended up being the air pump. :thumbs:
