I bought it used, and it worked fine. I used it several times when I first received it a few years ago. The last time I used it, which was a couple years ago, I remember the battery died on the vette as I was changing some things with the programmer. I thought I had everything worked out ok.
Flash forward to yesterday....I try to hook it up, it says "programming was interrupted" next screen "cartridge A0B5 is required" (sometimes it says the cartridge number is 5155) next screen "insert cartridge, then restart" So I call Hypertech, they say neither of those cartridges exist, and they only warranty the programmer to the original purchaser (I get screwed for being honest) Anyway, has anybody else had a problem like that? I guess I will have to take it back to the dealer and have the stock program put back in. No biggie, as the programming doesn't do much. The only problem would be that my programmer would then be totally useless. Any ideas?

Is it possible that the current programming is corrupt? May be the Hypertech programmer is fine but when it "sees" a corrupt program in your Vette, it's running home to momma.
May be try again when you have a non-corrupted stock program re-do?
Have you tried getting your program back to stock using the Hypertech or does the same error messages come up?

I bought a Hypertech (cheap) from a guy whose vette burned up. However, it wasn't set back to stock.
When I tried to use it, it gave me the message that the VIN did not match. I called Hypertech and explained the situation. The service tech, said rather rudely, they would replace the chip for $250. The way he dealt with me, I wouldn't have sent it to them for free to have them fix it.
For what I paid for it, I may tear it apart and see if I can reverse engineer the VIN.
Bottom line for me, from the way I was treated I won't purchase Hypertech products.

The guy on the phone from Hypertech told me I could take my car back to the dealer for a reprogram. He said Hypertech won't do any work on the programmer, I would have to buy a new one. I just want my stock program back and use the fan temp settings for the 160 thermostat. :banghead:

I recently had a problem with their programmer...It set off a bunch of codes, etc. I called them - they were very helpful. I sent them my pcm and their unit back...they reflashed the pcm and sent me a new programmer - within three days.
