Default Hot weather performance

What might be the cause of poor engine performance in hot weather?
My 84 Cpe runs fine when cold, and then coughs and even stalls at low RPM like at traffic lights (I usually have to shift into N while I wait at a stop light to keep it running.) Forget about bumper to bumper traffic...its a major battle to keep it running. Usually the outside temp is 85 + and the eng temp is 215. On cooler days, it runs fine.

It may be an issue with the IAC.
