Re: Exhaust gaskets... (tomservo)
Where? Front Y to stock shorties? The y-pipe is flared to fit over the headers; you should bolt it on (evenly of course) without any goop.
My stock ones didn't seem to line up very well.. so I loosened the front hanger and unbolted the y from the cat first.
Also, don't overtorque those nuts... it'll bend the brackets inward, and bind on the studs, making it a bitch to remove later without damaging the threads. Ask me how I know. :banghead:
Sorry, should have given more info to work with. Stock exhaust up to cats, I'm talking about bolting the stock parts onto the exhaust manifold and was wondering if you put any sealant on that copper mesh gasket or not....
Stick then in dry with no sealant. DO NOT use silcone RTV. The silicone can leach out of the sealer and kill your O2 sensors! Do apply some high temp anti-seize compound on your exhaust bolts to facilitate removal at a later date.

Thanks much! Now, if it would only stop raining every weekend I could get this all done!
