If the base timing is bumped up a couple of degrees ( from +6 to +8), should the "Initial Spark Advance" parameter also be changed to in the EPROM to match it?
Seems like if the ECM doesn't know what the base timing is then the extra 2 degrees will be added EVERYTHING in the spark table.
I'm getting a few knock counts and was wondering if this was contributing to them.
Gimme you guys opinions, please.
Although my base timing is set at 6 deg, from what I've read on the forum many people don't pick up any knock counts when they ahev made a change like this. I think it depends on your set up, fuel quality, engine temp, etc...
I also agree that you are adding in 2 degrees across the whole spark table by not changing the initial parameter in the ECM.
