Default D-port heads #113

Just ran my best of 13.00 on a untouched D-port head. 1.8 60 foot time and that was on Pepboy tires. Now here is my question. This right on target for this head?

TIA
Rich

If the 350hp untouched thing is totally accurate, 13 sounds correct.

Me and 65Z01 have stock #113 heads.

I have gone high 12's while 65Z01 has gone 13.0's.

These heads are very strong for a stock head. With a serious port job, they can run easy 115+ mph.

Vic

You definitely have some 12s in there now.

Install an AFPR set to current fuel pressure and then tune it at the strip for best trap speed. I'm guessing around 50psi for the final setting.

Also a 160 deg stat & switch would be a nice "free" mod.

Why not just get those D-ports pocket ported & worked a little with some "nice" 2.00"/1.56" SS valves. As such they will flow air for over 400hp.

Its a roller motor. And the protoplines that I am getting will out flow the Lpe version of the D-port.

Don't get caught up in just flow #s, that isn't all that goes into a head.

Oops, I looked up that 219 cam in Lingenfelter's book and edited the post.

With that motor you will surely need the DRs, enjoy.

BTW, what are your plans for the D-ports?
