Default Battery Relocation

Has anyone relocated the battery to the rear of the car? I am considering doing this for weight distribution. I need to know if I can use the stock battery and what needs to be done.

Weight distribution for what purpose? The car already has a near 50/50 distribution already.

I autocross. My car is not at 50/50. I can't remember the exact distribution since I last weighed it a year ago. Optimal handling has more weight to the rear. 50/50 is actually a myth. I think optimal is 42/58, if I remember correctly.

I think optimal is 42/58
I don't know but my guess is that it probably depends
at least partly on the drivetrain configuration.

42/58 would help me with my wheel spin but it might
be less than optimum for the fwd crowd I run with in
Solo II.

As for the question of who has done it, check out this
current thread for photos posted by gcrouse

You can relocate the battery to the right rear of the car attached to the rear side of the rearmost steel crossmember as far too the right as the gas lines will allow. You need a Stock Car Products 9-1/2" wide battery tray. You have to insert 1/4-20 rivnuts, 4 on the rear side of the beam and 2 on the front side. You have weld mounting brackets to the battery tray and bolt it to the rear cross member. Mine's been on for 5 years.

Recently I saw pics of some guy had his battery relocated to the underside of the car, between the differential a spare tire.
