I upgraded to the 140 amp AC/Delco alternator about a year ago...works just fine...steady at 14.1 to 14.3 volts...may drop to 13.9 after about 5 passes at the dragstrip...one word of advice...if you keep putting in those "aftermarket", lifetime warranty alt's from the parts stores you might want to give up on them...been there, done that...the OEM's are very expensive in comparison but they are the way to go when you're tired of breaking down/replacing them...good luck

I finally gave the car to an auto elecrical shop. It was never my alternator or battery at fault. The fuse that controls the heater-gauge was burnt out, From what they tell me, this is enough for the system to screw up the alternator. This car is new to me, The fuse that controls the heater had a 10 amp in it (blown)- who uses the heater this time of year! They replaced it with a 15 amp. My volts are 14+ now. I would never have thought that a fuse could be so EXPENSIVE! Hopefully someone will read this & not have to go the route that I did.
