I have recently gone from stock exhaust to eliminators and i can tell you that it is loud and sounds good, but the resonance is terrible. It does, however get a lot of attention and have already gotten many compliments on the sound. If its a daily driver, i would not recommend, but if it is a weekend warrior, GO FOR IT!! :steering:
I put exhaust eliminators on my 90 vert 6 speed. It sounds good and is not loud (i've still got all three cats in place). I'm pretty happy. Also, with the 6speed, resonance does not seem to be a rpoblem.
Honestly I would leave the SLP on. It's not louder, but it does sound good.
:withstupid: if you're gonna do elims, pik up a stock cat-back and ditch the muffs on that, don't destroy you're good, discontinued cat-back just because you want it louder :nonod: the elims do sound good, but with an auto you lose some low-end torque. i recently replace my stock cat-back w/ elims w/ a borla cat-back. the sound is close but the power that i regained is definitely noticeable :D
I have eliminators on my '87. With the new cam and head work it sounds awesome. Not too loud because of the 3 cats I still have installed (I live in CA). I had the muffler guy stick them out a ways about 2.5" past the bumper lip.
When I put my new rear carpets in, I left the floor piece in and put the new carpets right on top of it. Double the insulation. I believe because of these two things, I have no resonates or resonance, however you say it.
