STARTER PROBLEM
I have had a problem with starting a hot car. turn the key and nothing from the starter. I let it cool down and it starts right up.
Now I have changed the starter to a Powermaster 9502 mini starter. Now in about one in ten times the solenoid kicks in but the starter does not turn. After I pulled on the drive belt, it will turn over fine. any suggestions on how to allign the starter or do I have to do something with the flywheel???
Will shims on the starter mounting bolts help?

Re: STARTER PROBLEM (gillyd53)
First, remove your battery cables (neg first) and clean the battery posts and cable lugs and replace (neg last). If your battery terminal voltage falls below 9.0 volts during cranking, you have a discharged battery, or poor cable connections, or a battery at the end of its life. Call the starter company and ask if their starter needs shims when installing on your model vette.
