Default LT1 reverse flow cooling?

I'm looking a the front of Ramrods nice looking 396. I'm trying to visualize the coolant flow to the heads. How does the coolant get to the heads first?

The coolant in the LT1/LT4 engines goes to the water pump, into the block where it makes a 90 degree turn upward into the front of the head, then down through the many holes in the head into the main portion of the block. From there, it goes back to the water pump to get to the radiator.

Go to this site: http://corvetteactioncenter.com/kb/q....php?qstId=184

Look at the picture of the block with the red arrows.

Thanks, I figured there had to be something cast into the block. I remember thinking after I installed my pump the last time that I should have stuck a finger in the block to see how it works.
