To my knowledge the aux fan is not controlled by the ECM.

The secondary fan is controlled by the switch in the passenger side head. If you have the thermomaster chip you should use Hypertech's p/n 4026 which turns the secondary fan on at 176 and off at 166.

That's the deal, the two fans are controlled separately:
-main fan is controlled only by the ECM
-aux fan is controlled only by the aux fan switch in the block below #1 & #3 plugs.

You can either use that new aux fan switch to bring on the aux fan earlier or wire the grn/wht wire from the main fan relay into the same wire on aux fan relay.

The aux/pusher fan is controlled by the passenger side head switch. :iagree:

On my LT-1 (93), the Hypertech Thermomaster chip kicks both fans on at around 160. I think Chevrolet changed the way the fans were controlled on the LT-1's.

Your primary fan should come on at 176. If it comes on at 160 with a 160 stat in effect your fan will run all the time.
