Horn,,,,,Now hatch issue
My horns have always sounded weak. So today I took a look at them, and the driver side has some sort of capacitor wired to the ground side. Dont really understand it, unless it was some effort to make it louder?
Anyway, the passenger side was disconnected, so I hooked it up thinking that maybe they were wired in series, and they both needed to be hooked up to work properly. I went to try the horn button, and after 3-4 pushes the hatch started cycling on and off, about every 5 seconds. It even does it while the car is running.
I pulled the fuse, so I could drive it but that fuse either controls a lot, or I have other problems as well. Now I have no dome lights or overdrive, and some other misc.
Gonna keep searching my FSM for an answer, but I was hoping someone else has had this problem, and can point me in a direction. Peace. h

Disconnect the connector on hatch relay(under trim beside hatch latch).
That will allow you to put fuse back in and diagnose circuit.
Most likely one of three switches is being depressed or shorted to ground.

Well, I checked all I could, then out of the blue, (since I had my tester out) I decided to check all my fuses. Low and behold, the courtesy fuse was blown. Put in a new one and all is good. Really weird, how that would effect the hatch. I even had voltage on both sides of the hatch fuse, which I also thought was strange. Either way its all working now.
I still dont have any OD, but I never checked that after I rebuilt the rearend. It has always worked, which surprised me with all the neglect this car had. I did clean all the switches, (oil line leak too) so maybe I knocked something loose. The wife has to keep reminding me its a project, and I cant fix the whole car overnight. Really want to though! Lol! h
