HELP! my windshield wipers are beating each other up!!!
I noticed that my windshield wipers have been hitting each other every time they come down after a wipe. Is this normal? Is there some quick fix for this or do I need to just live with it. It is not a major issue as I do not often drive in the rain. It is however a little disconcerting. Thanks for your input.

I haven't taken my wiper arms off yet, so I can't say for sure on the Vette, but on a lot of cars the arm presses on to a tapered splined shaft. Maybe one of yours is off a notch or two, causing the interference. A loose nut will also allow the arm to slip.
On the other hand, if Corvettes have the d-hole shafts, I'd think something must be bent.

Pretty easy to adjust. You need to remove your leaf screens and get to the 10mm nuts on the adjusters. They just slide. Do one at a time; make sure they don't hit the windshield posts. If you run out of adjustment and they still hit each other, then you need to pull the arm(s) and set it one spline off.

I had this problem, I just got new blades. The old ones were grabing the glass and running into one another. Whenever mine got cought up, they made a very loud slapping sound on the wind sheld. Not the most comforting thing during a storm. Maybe it was just a different style blade, but I havent had the problem since.

I had the same problem with my 93 Coupe, everytime I turned on the windshield wipers they would hit each other. There was a cure posted in Corvette Fever Magazine, but that was to replace your wiper arms with those from a 96 Corvette, which was expensive. While at work one day I had to take our company vehicle over to the motor pool to replace the wipers, the Chevy Vans wipers looked like the ones on my Vette. So I got the NAPA wiper # and size , went home and measured my current old wipers on my Vette. I think that they were NAPA 20 inch long blades on both wiper arms. What I did was to get a 18 inch NAPA blade on the drivers side and then a 20 inch blade on the passenger side. I didn't have to adjust the wiper arms at all, I fired them up and they no longer hit each other. Give it some thought, all I did was just change the size of the wipers and it solved the problem. If you need the NAPA numbers let me know , I will have to go home and get them.
