Persistant Courtessy light Help !!!
For no reason at all my courtessy lights are staying on , I have checked both door switches and tailgate switch and even when dissconnected they still stay on . I believe there is a timer delay in the system somewhere but where ? it isnt shown on the wiring diagram . Any other thoughts would also be appreciated . HELP :confused:

It happened on me on my 92 convertible. After a little research I found that the lock cylinder in the door can be the problem. Someone said that over time, with wearing of the key/lock cylinder, you can take the key out of the door, and the lock cylinder is not properly oriented, vertical, leaving the lights on. The theory made sense to me, as when you unlock you door, the interior light goes on (I think). Being careful about how the door lock cylinder looks, I have not had this problem since. This may not apply to you, but things like this are always good to know.

Cheers Mikesa spot on , I moved the barrel on the drivers door and problem sorted , strange being as I hadnt locked or unlocked the door perhaps it was the "shaking" with the top off . Thanks again Mike :hurray:
