Default radiator restrictor plates?

I replaced the radiator in my '91 yesterday as the plastic tanks were bulging and cracking. I got a new replacement rad and noticed it had restrictor plates blocking off about 90% of the opening for the lower rad hose. I called the place I bought t from and they said thats the style used for auto trannies. I said mines a stick and he said no problem, its just that places only stock the higher usage part now and that one works just fine. Is this BS and am I in for trouble?

Although I can't come up with any logical reasons why it wouldn't work in a manual car and WOULD work in an automatic, I'd still feel funny about running it. Does the radiator have the threaded bungs for the trans lines? i.e. is it REALLY an auto trans rad?

Yeah, I was meaning to mention that it does have the connections for the trannie fluid lines that the orig rad doesnt have.

On average Im seeing a good 30 degree drop in overall temps too. And it not puking coolant every now and then is a plus too  Now to get the AC (which damn well better be covered by the warranty) fixed and Im good to go.

Modine, possibly the highest quality, OE, replacement radiator available, only shows one part number. The consolidation of auto and manual radiator part numbers, is quite common. Good luck, and ...
