back again/ exhaust sweet thunder
But I went with the 2 1/4 inch pipe at the recommendation of Sweet Thunder. Now that I have a modded motor my dyno guy tells me I need a full 3 inch custom exhaust. So I have to install something else.
With a stock motor and an LT1 you won't hurt the power with the small pipe, but I would go with the larger diameter they make. You will love running with it with the windows down. Don't expect a power gain.
That's the facts, you decide.

I could have sworn that the outer diameter of the pipes (not the inside chambered areas) were 2 3/4. The reason being, is that I did not use the clamps that came with the exhaust system, but instead purchased 2 "belt-type" clamps to secure the rear pipes to the main section. The 2 3/4 clamp was the correct size for this. Cosmetically, I felt that this made a big difference. Also, isn't the stock system 2 3/4?
I had purchased mine through Mid-America, but I no longer see it advertised for sale. Depending on the sound that you are after, this may be a system that appeals to you. It definitely has more bite to it than the stock system, but it is not obnoxious either.
Removal of the old system and installation of the new system can be done in about 3 hours. There were minimal problems with the fit, and I sealed my system in order to avoid any leaks that might have occurred.
What type of tone are you looking for? One thing that I did note is that the Corsa systems that I have heard are very quiet at idle (like factory), but the chambered system actually gives a throaty rumble at idle. It's a nice system, and I'd recommend it to those looking for a system with "bite" to it. :)
I really hate to give up the sound to go with something else 3". I might do some kind of compromise with the pieces they offer, instead of the catback.
If you go to their web site you will see there are a lot of choices in pipe diameter and material.
Can't blame you for not wanting to give up the sound, it's a blast to drive, as I'm sure you know. Good luck with the system that you choose/put together, and hopefully you won't lose much of the tone. :steering:
