Default Manual O/D conversion, 4+3

I did a search and couldn't find anything on the topic, but I remember seeing a post a while back about it.

What's the simplest way to make the O/D a simple "toggle switch" operation, no computer interface, no nothing, just an ON/OFF switch? :chevy

In the stock setup the switch on the shifter sends a signal to the ECM which then powers the O/d relay on the firewall because the ECM has control over O/d operation. If you run a wire to the relay( or in your case a new one) from a switch you then have complete manual operation.

I think this guy is talking about using the old style ON/OFF switch in place of the momentary contact switch in the shifter he has now and pulling the ECM wires at pins C8 and A7 and connecting them together.

That's what I'm talking about, 'ya bloke!

Is that all there is to it, jumping C8 and A7 and then unhooking the shifter **** switch momentary switch and changing it to an on/off switch?

Yea, that's it. And I'm not a bloke. I'm actually a Delawarean, but since I've been in England since January of 1990, maybe I am a bloke! :lolg:
