Default Help with differential...

My 92's diff has taken one too many hard launches. The gears are shot on it. What do you all recommend? Rebuild it? Buy a rebuild unit? Also where can I get a good price? Thank you. :seeya

I just ordered a new rear "pumkin" from ZIP PRODUCTS through Corvetteforum.com. I found that they had the best price I could find on the web or anywhere. I went through GROUP PURCHASES and got a Dana 36 3.54 for $759.00 with a $400.00 core charge. My orignal rear had 2.59 gears and the one I ordered has 3.54. Zip did not charge me an upgrade charge either. I hope this helps.

If you have the tools and equipment get new R&P, clutch pack and do it yourself. Besides what makes u thing that the gears are shot, those rear ends are pretty solid. I would not consider it shot unless a considerable amount of metal found in gear oil or broken tooth. Other good idea is to go with synthetic gear oil.
