Anyone with a 396ci/T-trim?
That's what I am putting together at this time and was wondering how much boost can be obtained with this combination. Someone has already stated in another forum that I would not be able to get a lot of boost. With the pulleys that I have now, I will max the impeller speed out at around 6500 rpms. I am running 9.2:1 compression, AFR 227 heads with 2.08/1.60 valves.

The problem is trying to transfer enough Hp into the blower pulley to get it to produce the boost levels you want. If you have a LT1 style C4 and are using the Vortec kit and just swapping over from a S to a T trim and are using the serpentine drive belt to drive the blower it maybe hard to get boost over 6 PSI from that system. I have a 396 with big AFR headsa as well and ran into that very problem using a S trim. I ended up designing my own cogged belt system to drive my blower with.
