I am about to replace them as a part of preventative maintenance. Old ones are Spicer no grease nipple. Does anybody have a better sugestion, if not I'll go with the same ones.
I can sell you a brand new set of spicer ujoints with a cryo-ing treatment. Which makes them ever stronger.
Doesn't it also make them brittle? when I worked at the U of A, when ever someone lost the keys, or combo, to the lock on their bike, we'd submerge the lock in liquid nitrogen for about 5 minutes, then hit the lock with a hammer, it would shatter into a million pieces ? ? ? ? ?

:D
I believe the cryogenic treatments is done only to the rolling surfaces to harden it (sort of tempering), the core of metal is not affected.
I imagine if you smacked the U-joints with a hammer just after they came out of the cryogenic liquid, they would also shatter. Cryo treating cools the parts to extreme temps, then warms them in a controlled manner. Once warmed again, brittleness should be gone.
You know I always saw the bearings and caps go, at least thats what happened on mine, never saw the cross piece/body broken, anyone else se the body broken?
