Man this NX Nitrous install is one BIG HEADACE!!!!
One thing after another, it's driving me nuts!!
First I had leaks with my fuel fittings..............but I fixed that problem, now the Nitrous is leaking out of the bottom of the Nitrous solenoid?? Not only that when I do arm the system my purge valve opens and all the Nitrous shoots out of the purge tube, without pressing the purge button???
problem # 1: THE NITROUS SOLENOID LEAK?
With the car off I opened my bottle to check for any leaks in the system and sure enough it LEAKS from the bottom of the Nitrous solenoid!! I luckily had the line that runs from the bottom of the Solenoid to the Fogger jet disconnected when I first tested the system for leaks. The leak is not from where the threaded fitting screws into the solenoid, it's coming out (Very slowly) from the exit hole itself? Could I have tighten the threaded fitting to tight thus preventing the plunger inside the solenoid to close properly? I did tighten it up pretty good.
problem # 2: THE PURGE SOLENOID DYSFUNCTION??
This has really got me puzzled?
After opening my bottle with the ignition turned to auxiliary I decided to see if my Purge worked. I flipped the toggle switch to arm and suddenly all the nitrous shot out of the purge tube??? This happens without pressing the purge button?? It like the purge solenoid is stuck wide open. I checked my wiring and all seems fine. One wire from the purge solenoid to a ground (Frame), the other wire to the arming switch, then a wire from the arming switch to the purge button & another wire from the Purge button to a ground.
Another thing does the Purge solenoid go before the nitrous solenoid or does it connect after the nitrous solenoid? Reason I'm asking is because the directions show it can be installed both ways? Oh by the way the Directions to this NX system SUCK!! :mad
I'd be out playing around with it more but man it just won't stop F'N raining!! :mad

#2.

Mine is done this way.
One wire from the purge solenoid to a ground (Frame), the other wire to the purge button, then a wire from the purge button arming switch. The purge button does not need to be grounded since it is only used to momentarily complete the 12v circuit to the purge solenoid.
Another thing does the Purge solenoid go before the nitrous solenoid or does it connect after the nitrous solenoid?
Mine is before the N2O solenoid. NX says you can use the "purge" outlet from the NX N2O solenoid, but I just used a -4 manifold before the N2O solenoid.

Then I just don't understand why this is not working, my install looks EXACTLY like yours?? I'll just have to go and play some more when this rain stops......................if it ever does.

Re: Man this NX Nitrous install is one BIG HEADACE!!!! (scorp508)
Thanks Scorp.
Ok the rain stopped for a few minutes and I check a few things.
First the Nitrous Solenoid.
I disconnect the battery (Both negative and Pos) to make sure no power was running to it. And sure enough it still leaks when I open the bottle. It has to be a bad solenoid.
Second the Purge Solenoid.
It has to be something I missed in the wiring because when I disconnected the ground and arm the switch it doesn't open and purge the nitrous. The wires must be connected wrong from the purge solenoid to the arming switch.

:iagree:
Does this help any on the purge switch wiring?
Thanks VetteNoob, I'll recheck my wiring after work today.
Scorp, I'm going to order a new Solenoid today.................ouch $160.00 Bucks!! :( If I don't get it on time for the race I might need yours..............thanks for the offer.

The solenoid should be under warranty. Give them a shout and they will fix it for what it costs to ship it to them I bet.
Sounds like you are providing power to the purge solenoid when you arm the system. Looks like you have figured that out though. FWIW, the purge valve has to go before the Nitrous solenoid otherwise it will not purge the line unless your purge opens the solnoid and the purge solenoid, but that would shoot Nitrous to the motor too.

Actually with the notrous Solenoid I'm using (Iceman Pure-Flo) you can attach the Purge to either side, and behind the nitrous solenoid is better. This Solenoid has a purge port built in it designed to allow nitrous to be drawn through the solenoid into the orifice to create what they call an "Instant Sledge Hammer effect".

Re: Man this NX Nitrous install is one BIG HEADACE!!!! (Vette92)
It's only a little more money than the smaller Nitrous Solenoid, I'll let you know how well it works once I get everything finished. I better hurry there's a track rental I'm going to this Friday.
Update on my Nitrous dilemma...........
I fixed the Purge solenoid problem.......I had it wired wrong. D'OH! :bb It's all good now.................damn I'm such a rookie.
I'll be getting a new Nitrous solenoid this Wed so I should have it running by Wed night................if all goes well.
Oh and the NX people were great, they told me to send back the bad solenoid and they'll fix it at no cost. They even told me they could care less if I bought it new or used they would still fix it for free.
You don't see that kind of service with other companies these days.
