Hi, I noticed yesterday that the car will miss and stumble when accelerating off of a stop after it reached operating temperature. But its smooth when the car is cold. There are no codes showing up. The opti was already replaced at 57K miles and it now has 67K.
I also smell a hint of coolant when idling. Any one had a similar symtom?
thanks in advance. :flag

Check the temperature sensor on the front of the water pump. It tells the PCM the engine's temperature so it can appropriately enrichen the fuel mix while cold. It might be letting it run too rich.
I think this also feeds the digital temp display. Does it show a difference to the analog gauge? If they are pretty close, then I would doubt this is the problem.

You can also check your O2 sensors. I had one go out and it caused the car to run rich and miss once in closed loop. I also had the coolant sensor go out and cause similar problems like John said.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions from CF, after having the ignition wires replaced, the engine miss was gone. Turns out some wires were laying on the headers. Part of the boot was melted. This caused cylinders 2 and 7 to miss. Lets hope this holds up and the miss never returns! :smash:
PS- Dealer hit me with a $530 cost for wires plus labor. oh wells, at least its fixed. Now to cruise...

That is a bit steep but remember how hard number 8 cylinder is to get to. :smash: :boxing
Glad you got it fixed.
