MSD were do I put tach wire
Just instaledl a msd 6a and I couldn't get it to start so I check connections 40 times checked the instructions again and again ,........then I read the first line of the instructions and it said remove the tach wire I removed it and ther car started but the instructions don't say were to put it..............man I can't live without a tachometer.

Do you think the same thing can happen on an '84.....??????
Hope someone answers up...not enough trouble just finding out where to install the MSD....bye the bye....where did you install it under the hood????

Under the left head light as low as I could...............haven't tried to shut the hood but I'm sure its all right.............I don't know about an 84 its all I can do to keep up with the differrances between an early l98 and the rest of them

all right cool but now I need another jumper wire and it took 11 days to get the one I have now from jegs..............were is the filter and do I have to remove it ? :cheers:

The tach filter should be bolted down on the manifold near the distributor. If it not there then someone did the favor of getting rid of it.

I did but the only wire not being used is a brown wire that is doubled up....no tach wire....the msd instructions don't really say what to do with the tach.

I mounted my 6AL in the compartment behind the drivers seat and ran the harness behind the rocker panel. Once its installed you can't even tell. I used the MSD jumper harness and had to splice one of the wires and remove the tach filter and everything works perfectly. I can take a pic and email it to you if you want.
